Thanksgiving is the start of the holiday season here in the United States. It’s a good time to step back and take a short break from all the hard work you’ve done so far this year. Like you, the Promevo team takes our work very seriously. For instance, our blog is usually full of technical guides, reviews on the latest Chrome devices, and tips to help you navigate your Google life.
Also, like you, we realize that occasionally we need to set the seriousness aside before Jack and Jill become dull kids. With that in mind, the Promevo team is taking a short break from the technical side of things to focus on Thanksgiving. We even had a Worksgiving (Thanksgiving at work) potluck lunch at our Erlanger office. See the gallery at the bottom of this blog for photos.
If you’re anything like us, you first learned about Thanksgiving in elementary school. How the Pilgrims, joined by their Native American neighbors, celebrated their first harvest in Plymouth with a big turkey dinner. Ok, maybe not the most historically accurate version of events but still an attention grabber for a six-year-old.
Outlines and Crayons
One of the favorite school activities that accompanied the lead up to Thanksgiving was drawing hand turkeys. What are hand turkeys? You trace the outline of your hand onto a piece of paper, then you take whatever supplies you have and decorate that silhouette to look like a turkey. Some use crayons and pencils, while others get extra-artsy and incorporate feathers and glitter glue. There is almost no limit to how you can decorate a hand turkey!
Even as grownups, we still love hand turkeys. So to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Promevo team decided to channel our inner Third-Graders to decorate our own hand turkeys. Some team members even took some home to share with their families. What you see in the gallery below is the result of everyone’s efforts.
We at Promevo aren’t ignoring the idea of Thanksgiving. All of us here have so much to be thankful for and we know it. From the little things, like having pretzels around the office, to the much bigger reasons like being fortunate enough to have amazing families, customers, and coworkers.
So, enjoy Thanksgiving! Take time to think about what you’re thankful for, enjoy your time with your loved ones, and maybe even decorate a hand turkey.
If you would like to join us in decorating hand turkeys, please post your creation in the comments section. We’d love to see what you come up with, and we’ll share it on Twitter and Google+! Just use the hastag: #promevohandturkey.
