At Promevo, we work tirelessly to help students, educators, and businesses work more efficiently and get the most out of their Google life.  However, this work seldom involves putting ourselves in harm’s way.  As such, Promevo wanted to take time to thank those who do risk their own safety in the service of others.  The team wanted to do something special to thank our police officers and firefighters for all that they do.

To show our appreciation, Promevo organized a cookout at our Burlington office for local first responders and their families.  Last Friday, decorating the office, setting up games, and cooking food replaced the usual afternoon hustle.  Aaron Gumz, our managing partner, smoked pulled pork while other team members chipped in with sides and desserts.  Several of our neighbors contributed as well, offering food and donations to make sure everything was covered.

The event kicked-off in grand fashion, with several fire engines and police cruisers rolling into the Promevo parking lot.  Among the stations represented were Hebron, Burlington, and Florence, along with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.  And the turnout was awesome, with crews of firefighters coming and going throughout the day, and plenty of police officers stopping by as well.  All together, over one hundred first responders stopped by the office for an afternoon of food and games.  Some brought their families, while others arrived during their lunch breaks.  Luck was on our side, with beautiful weather and no emergency calls to pull our guests away from their meals.

Promevo employees joined in the celebration as well, eating lunch and chatting with our guests.  In addition, they offered tours of the office and explained a bit of what we do here at Promevo.  While it was awesome getting to play games of cornhole and ladder golf on a workday, the best part of the day was having the opportunity to sit and chat with the men and women who work so hard to keep us safe.

Promevo would like to acknowledge our neighbors who helped make this event such as success. Thank you to Boot Country, Lucky Duck Pub, Mike’s Garage, and Performance Body Repair for your support!

From the Promevo family to all our local fire, police, and rescue personnel, thank you for your service and for all that you do to keep our community safe!  We hope you enjoyed the afternoon!
