Educators, prepare to celebrate! Today we will be discussing the new ASUS C202 Chromebook, the perfect device for your classroom. Most of us are all familiar with Chromebooks, how well they fit in the classroom, their great prices, easy-to-use design, and seamless support for large amounts of users. The ASUS C202 is all of that and more!

This new Chromebook was designed to withstand all of the natural conditions of the classroom. We know that accidents

giphy (2)happen all the time in the classroom, whether it’s a student dropping a Chromebook, spilling water on it, tripping over the power cord, or even throwing it against a wall while it’s still in their backpack. Those problems won’t phase this Chromebook, because it was built to take a hit!

The C202 was built with a 3 mm Nano-bonded rubberized sidewall, with the idea of students dropping it in mind. It’s rugged design will allow it to fall from almost four feet. While testing it, our inner student came out and we had some fun pushing it off desks and “accidentally” dropping it while walking around our office. Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t get the thing to break.

The C202 also has 2 strategically placed grips on the bottom to prevent any unwanted movement, especially any type sliding on flat or slanted desks. These grips also double as great carrying grip for when a student is on the go, the size of the grips are perfect for smaller hands.

giphy (4)We tried to break  the ports by yanking, tripping over, and pulling on the corresponding cords. Again, no luck (trying to break this thing wasn’t as much fun as you would think). The interior of the Chromebook is reinforced with double injection molding to absorb the forces that normally cause damage to ports.

So, we have tried to break this device by dropping it and yanking on all of its cords, but no luck. But, how many times have you seen a student (or a teacher) break a computer by accidentally spilling liquid on one? We’ve broken our fair share of computers here because of unwanted spills. So to test the C202 out, we poured 2 ounces of water on it’s keyboard. But yet again, after a quick drain, the computer was fine!

After all that, we could not break or even put a dent into this Chromebook. But, let’s say that a student, somehow, manages to accidentally break part of the C202 and it need to be opened up and repaired. For most notebooks, you would have to either take it to a shop or send it back to the manufacturer and wait days or even weeks for it to get back to you. Well, the ASUS C202 Chromebook was designed to be a great solution for easy in-house repairs, without voiding your warranty, by any educational professional that is registered as a ASUS ASP Self-Maintainer.

It takes 4 easy steps and less than 10 minutes to disassemble the ASUS C202, using simple standard tools. On the inside of the C202 you can find the parts that tend to break more frequently separated from each other. This makes easier to replace what’s broken, repairs much quicker, and it makes the entire system more cost-effective.

Let’s say that a student trips over a power cord and breaks the power jack (unlike we were able to) and the power jack needs to be replaced. Well, ASUS made sure that the power jack has its own daughter board making it much easier to replace.

To sign up to be a ASUS ASP Self-Maintainer all you need to do is contact the ASUS service department (Education@Asus.com) and make sure that you qualify for the easy application process.
